I study computer science (arvutitehnika), build VR simulations, and design the systems behind them. Sometimes I break things on purpose, that's the security part.

A bit about me.

I'm a student in Estonia studying computer science (arvutitehnika) with a focus on systems, simulation, and security. My main project right now is OrbitalDepth, a pipeline that reconstructs 3D lunar terrain from single orbital photographs using shadow geometry and Shape from Shading.

Outside of that I build VR experiences in Unreal Engine, model in Blender and compete in CTFs. Understanding how systems break is the fastest way to learn how they actually work.

Selected work.

OrbitalDepth

Python · Computer Science · Unreal Engine 5 · Ongoing

Orbital photographs look flat. A crater and a lava plain can look identical depending on where the sun was. OrbitalDepth inverts that problem: by analysing the direction and length of shadows in an image, it works out the sun's exact position at capture, applies photometric correction, and runs Shape from Shading to recover surface normals pixel by pixel.

The output is a full triangle mesh, accurate to real scale, validated against NASA's LOLA laser altimetry dataset, and exported directly into Unreal Engine 5, Unity or Blender. Built as a web service with a FastAPI backend, Celery job queue and S3-compatible storage.

Kuupkulgur Ulysses — VR Simulation

Unreal Engine · Tartu Observatory · 2024–Ongoing

+

Kuupkulgur Ulysses is a real Estonian lunar rover initiative. I built a VR simulation of it in Unreal Engine, focusing on physics accuracy, environment realism and interactive systems. The project combined programming, 3D design and science communication in a multidisciplinary team.

CTF — Capture the Flag

Cybersecurity · Ongoing

+

I compete regularly in CTF competitions, breaking systems to understand how to build better ones. Areas of practice include network security, cryptography, reverse engineering and web vulnerabilities.

psst: the terminal above hides a flag. finders keepers.

Say hello.

Working on something interesting in systems, simulation or security? I'd love to hear about it.
